The Arktis hybrid battle vest is a military specification vest built on an IRR treated nylon mesh base with military IRR treated 1000D Cordura straps and pouches. The pockets on the vest include: two slant utility pouches on lower back rear with capacity for minimi mags, two single clip ammo pouches for pistol magazines or smaller tools, four Arktis ammo pouches with a carrying capcity of approximately three M16 magazines in each, two FFD and small items pouches, one laterally mounted knife compass pouch, two zip dump pockets or map pockets on left and right chest, one internal pistol holster designed for right handed cross draw and mesh reservoir pouch for small hydration or radio on the rear. The main ammunition pouches are a large capacity design which close with velcro and a long length adjustable quick release buckle for maximum versatility. Two grenade pouches are mounted to the front of the vest. These are located on the ammo pouches on either side of the central zipper, one on each ammo pouch. The vest has eight points of adjustment to fit the vest to the body with or without body armour which are located over the shoulders, under the arm, at mid-section and on the waist. The vest fastens over the front of the body with a central chunky zipper, reinforced with adjustable quick release buckles at chest and waist height. The shoulder sections are left clear to maximise free arm movement, and the majority of the load is mounted below the mid-section or on the waist. The shoulder sections have two D-rings each for attachment of carabiners, one point slings and other utilities. The battle vest is favoured as a patrol vest or recon vest because of its high storage capacity. The vest has a grab handle at rear for carrying or dragging.
