The British Army issue Osprey utility pouch is designed to fit onto the Osprey assault vest, Osprey body armour cover or any standard 25mm US MOLLE system. The pouch measures 19.5x9.5x8.5cm and will hold extra ammo, food and utensils, folded down thermal jacket, and other field essentials. The pouch lid is a wraparound type to provide side as well as top and front protection for contents. The lid opens with velcro and a pinch type Spanish fly system similar to the one used in the German IdZ magazine pouch. This eliminates the problem of the plastic retainer being accidently retracted and the contents falling out. The pouch outer is made of 1000D military Cordura, fully lined internally with rubberised tarpaulin material. The pouch is fitted with a 11cm tall internal compression sack with drawcord and plastic slide toggle which helps to protect the contents from dust and water as well as helping to hold the contents in place. Within the pouch, the back fitted with a lace type cord which is sewn down on the sides and centre. This helps to hold in place tall utilities such as eating utensils. The rear of the pouch is fitted with two MOLLE vertical straps which button down on to the body and two horizontal straps for interweaving against the MOLLE base.
