7.7x58 Arisaka Inert Round

The 7.7x58 Arisaka or 7.7 Jap was made for the Arisaka Type 99 rifle. This rifle was introduced by the Japanese Army after 1937 to replace the 6.5x50mm Arisaka, but both remained in use throughout the war due to lack of materials. The cartridge was developed after the Japanese saw the British .303 in action. After the war, many captured Type 99 Arisaka rifles were converted to fire the 30-06 round due to its greater availability. The 7.7x58 cartridge is still manufactured (with expanding heads) for sporting in the USA, but is virtually obsolete everywhere else. The inert round consists of a fired brass case with FMJ RN head. Heads are pressed and seated to correct depth and not hammered in place. Perfect for film, diorama, re-enactment, collecting. To restore finish, rub with metal polish or toothpaste. Please note, price is for ONE inert round. NB: All inert ammunition travelling OUTSIDE mainland UK must be shipped by international courier (eg TNT, DHL).

Extras available for this dummy round:

An new and unindented brass cup to fit into the primer pocket to give the appearance of a new, unfired round: Large Dummy Primer
Removal of the deactivated, inert primer from the round, leaving a hole or holes in the base that can be inspected to prove the round is inert and free from explosives: Depriming of Round
