The Blackhawk tactical range is acknowledged as one of the best non-modular tactical gear brands today. The signature Omega series of vests is arguably the tactical vest that launched the revolution whereby specialist operators had a vest specifically designed for them rather than improvising from standard military webbing. The Omega Tactical Vest Medic is a pouch heavy vest which spreads and organises the load carried over four, large, separate, bulgy pockets. Each side of the vest is fitted in exactly the same way to the other to help generalise the pouches in such a way that the medical technician can personalise the carriage capability. The bulgy pockets are horizontal in shape, allowing for easier visual and physical access to the contents in an emergency than vertical pockets. Each pocket can carry the equivalent of a large first aid kit. Contents (not included) of a large first aid kit could be: The pouch contains one 5x5cm non-adhering dressing, 4 sterile wound dressings No.8, 12 assorted safety pins, one pair of vinyl gloves, 6 alcohol free antiseptic wipes, micropore tape 1.25cmx10m, waterproof dressing strip 4cm x 1m, bandage 7.5cm x 5m BP quality, resuscitator, plastic tweezers, triangular bandage non-woven, 2 steri-strip 3mm x 75mm (strip of 5), antiseptic cream 50g, scissors, crepe bandage 5cm x 4.5cm, 8 non-adherent dressing 7.5 x 7.5cm, 16 Paracetamol tablets. Expandable horizonatal pouches on both left and right chest allow for storage of extra dressings and general utilities. The upper left and right shoulders each have a FFD, compass or small radio pouch. A padded grip panel on the upper right hand shoulder provides a stable, inbuilt shooting pad. The vest is mesh backed for ventilation. Belt loops are provided at the bottom, however, the vest does not come with a belt. Size adjustment range over shoulders is up to 6 inches and range around the waist is up to 14 inches. This makes the vest suitable for standard heights from 5'8 to 6'1 and waists from 28 inches to 42 inches. The vest opens centrally with a 10YKK Vislon zipper which is a chunky zipper resistant to non-operation due to damp and dirt. D-rings are provided over the shoulders for attachment of comms, hydration gear or one point sling use. The rear mesh back has an internal pocket for insertion of a hydration bladder which is not included. The vest and pouches are made of 1000D military grade Cordura nylon for excellent dirt, damp and abrasion resistance. Vest is available in Black and Olive Drab.
