The 7mm Remington Magnum is a large, belted round with a tall, strongly shouldered magnum case with a neck down to take a 7mm bullet head. It was showcased alongside the (then) new Remington 700 bolt action rifle. Both were introduced in 1962, and the 7mm Remington Magnum offered a flatter ballistic trajectory than the highly popular all-rounder military cartridge, 30-06, which was widely adopted by sportsmen in North America due to its easy availability. This was due to the magnum power of the cartridge which was paired with the smaller bullet diameter and higher sectional density of the 7mm calibre bullet head. The 7mm Remington Magnum is popular for use in plains in North America and Africa, and its non-belted case design makes cartridge extraction quick and efficient - a necessary prerequisite when confronted with charging or stampeding large animals. The nickel plating helps to prevent corrosion if the rounds are being carried in a leather belt or cartridge carrier. Price is for ONE cartridge only. Dulled cartridges can be restored with metal polish or toothpaste. Rounds must travel by courier as they are prohibited from travel via standard mail.
The round compared to a coin for size.
