Olive Chinese AK47 Chicom Chest Rig

Classic design Chinese chest rig for the AK 47. Made of heavy duty cotton canvas, this chest rig will hold one full-sized AK47 magazine in each of the front three pockets. There are two smaller pockets on each side, two of which are lined with vinyl, which are designed to hold items such as grenades and other small utility items. The magazine pockets are made in two stages to ensure correct and regular sizing. All pockets are double stitched onto the chest rig base. Pockets are closed with flaps which are secured into place with wooden toggle and loop closure. Chest rig shoulder straps are adjustable through a self-tensioning adjustment metal ring and bar system and excess strap length is secured into place under a vinyl loop. The chest rig is tied into place around the back. The chest rig is completely silent in operation, extremely stable when worn and maintains a low profile. A classic piece of kit suitable for airsofters, role players, re-enactment and film/theatre. Search terms: chinese chest rig, chicom chest rig, AK chest rig, Vietcong chest rig, terrorist chest rig.

What our customers say about this product:

A very good Chest rig for what it is. As said in the above description, the operation of the thing is completely silent, although slower than the comparable velcro opening. Nice variety of pouches, and the interesting "X" style harness system and straps make it easy to use for any size person. Very durable. I know this is a classic design, but as an improvement, I would suggest a radio pouch on one of the cross-straps and a quick release buckle on the back tie. - Submitted by AgentMcgee

I think this is the best Chest rig I've ever used, unfortunately I'm not allowed to use it as a main rig on duty (unless on driving duties) however while playing airsoft, combined with basic belt order consisting of a water bottle and utility pouch it is perfect! Not only does it fit AK mags nicely it will fit: M16/SA80 mags and G3, SLR, FAL, M14 mags if you stuff some newspaper down the mag pouches so you don't have to dig about trying to fin the smaller magazines. As a rig itself it is also VERY customisable: I fitted the strap at the back with a Fastex buckle, you can soak the rig in water to stretch it out to fit two magazines per pouch and because of the material if your DS are iffy about kit you can paint it without causing any damage. Finally the one time I did manage to get on exercise with it, I ragged it as much as possible and am pleased to say: it stood up to a hell of a beating. So if you want Cheap, durable, basic and customisable then this really is the rig for you. 10/10 - Submitted by Dominic

These chest rigs are great if you're going light weight and carrying the bare essentials. I personally use the magazine pouches with the flap folded down the back of the pocket for easier access to the magazines, because of the depth of the pockets I've not had any magazine losses. The grenade pouches can hold those smaller tools such as a Gerber multitool, allen key set, a lighter and if it takes your fancy, cigarettes. For 12.50 GBP this is a basic piece of kit that shouldn't be looked over for it's simplicity. I also added a QR buckle onto the back tie to make donning the rig easier. - Submitted by OllieJeffrey
