The 45-100 Sharps is a heavy hitting 45 calibre slug with 100 grains of black powder behind it in a 2.6 inch long brass casing. Used in the 'Old Reliable' Sharps rifles of the 1870s, the 45-100 cartridge was known as a big game, Buffalo cartridge. Earlier calibres of Sharps rifles were ordered for military use, and some 45 100 calibre is known to have been produced for the US Army. Effective and heavy hitting at 500 yards, the Sharps 45 100 was a firm favourite in the US Western arsenal for both hunting and protection against raids. Fitted with a custom made lead round nose bullet and an unindented dummy primer. Price is for one round only. Rounds must travel with courier.
