Early WW2 Issue 6.5x52 Italian Carcano Inert Round

An original Italian 6.5x52 Carcano round which is fully deactivated and empty of propellant, with war or pre-war dated casing and original round nose bullet head. The earlier dated rounds have nickel plated FMJ heads. The headstampings show dates from 1934 up to 1940, but interestingly, the initials on the headstamps show a mix of ammunition factories and ammunition inspectors' initials. SMI (factory - Societa Metallurgica Italiana) and BPD (factory - Bombriini, Parodi and Delfino) are present, alongside AA (inspector - Aldo, Adamo), CA (inspector - Cavalli, Alfredo). Rather than being stamped, the base of the case features a deep grove onto which the markings are raised. The neck of the cartridge is also unusual, that there is a distinct step inside the neck corresponding to the length of the bullet, which is not smooth to the shoulder. After the war, surplus ammunition was repackaged in the 1950s as a mix of headstamps, and sold onto the civilian market to raise funds. Price is for one round only. Cases have not had original wartime patina polished from them and will show some traces of the original finish. Rounds must travel by courier.
