.22 Hornet Inert Round with Ballistic Tip

The 22 Hornet is a US developed cartridge which drew inspiration from common rimfire cartridges like 22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (WMR) and 17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire (HMR) which were low power varminting rounds. First released in 1930, the 22 Hornet incorporated a centrefire case which makes the 22 Hornet easier for hunters and shooters to reload. The 22 Hornet's power is relatively low for a centrefire cartridge, but it benefits from low noise and limited penetration that makes it safer when used to confrol vermin in built up areas. The 22 Hornet was used for air crew survival rifles in WW2 by the US military, and these were loaded with soft point bullets, as they were for hunting for food rather than for personal defence. The round is fitted with a ballistic tipped copper jacketed tip. Price is for one round only. Rounds must travel with courier.

Extras available for this dummy round:

An new and unindented brass cup to fit into the primer pocket to give the appearance of a new, unfired round: Small Dummy Primer
Removal of the deactivated, inert primer from the round, leaving a hole or holes in the base that can be inspected to prove the round is inert and free from explosives: Depriming of Round
