Winchester's signature short magnum cartridges in Winchester and Federal's Nickel Plated cases with a ballistic tip, produced from the early 2000s, the 300 Winchester Short Magnum, or 300 WSM, is a shortened 300 Winchester Magnum which utilises the reduced length of cartridge to bring the propellant powder closer to the primer touchhole and ensure a quicker and more uniform ignition. In addition to fitting in a shorter action which allows for the overall rifle to be shorter, the 300 WSM also burns 8-10% less gunpowder. This is achieved without a significant drop in performance. The 300 WSM has a distinctive, sharp shoulder appearance. Fitted with a ballistic tip match head. Price is for one round only. Rounds must ship with courier.
